A rogue landlord faces fines for housing a family including young children, in an uninhabitable outbuilding, a repeat offense.

He was guilty of the same thing a little over a year ago concerning the same specific property. In September 2024, officials visited a home at Clarence Road in Peterborough. A family of five lived in the outbuildings.
The place was still not fit to live in. Three young kids resided there. It had many problems, including fire hazards, bad heating, and it was too small.
Khan was guilty of the same issue in January 2024. He didn’t go to court that time, but was fined £800. He also had to pay a victim surcharge of £320. Council costs added another £600.
The council will now consider further action. They might stop him from being a landlord or add him to a rogue landlord database. This database is a national listing.
Alison Jones, a council member for housing, spoke about the matter. She said this should warn bad landlords who risk their tenants and break the law. The council will take action against them and might stop Khan from being a landlord.
