JLR is looking into a fire incident. A £60,000 Land Rover caught fire suddenly, and the road had to close for about five hours. Pankaj Verma owns the burnt Land Rover Discovery. The incident occurred on January 27 in Solihull.

Verma said his 4×4 was getting repairs at an authorized Land Rover place, where it had been for over a month. The fire happened during a test drive. Verma bought it new back in 2017.

Verma rushed to the repair shop after getting a call. Police and fire crews had blocked the road. The fire was quite extensive when he arrived. JLR started its investigation to find the cause and is helping the retailer.

Verma said this caused his family distress and that it could have been him in the car. His wife is having trouble sleeping, and his daughter is also very upset by this. He thinks the issue needs addressing.

Verma wishes to stop future problems and wants to highlight the risks. It raises questions about safety and workmanship. He contacted JLR for a full inquiry and asked for a report on what went wrong.

Verma mentioned the road closure time, noting that Stratford Road was closed for five hours. News of what occurred appeared online then. JLR assists the retailer with examining the vehicle now, but they can’t comment until the investigation is done.
