Lancashire Village Pub Reopens After Sudden Closure Last Year

A village pub from the 1700s is open again. It closed unexpectedly last year, and people are happy to visit the White Horse once more. The pub is in Edgworth, on Bury Road.

Amanda Blinkhorn and Liam Evans now manage it. They are experienced, and Amanda is happy to revitalize the pub. Locals missed the pub a lot; it was busy on Friday and steady on Saturday.

Amanda has worked in pubs for years. A friend suggested she take on this pub, as she was looking for a pub to run. Her friend mentioned the White Horse.

Pubs are closing at about six each week. The British Beer and Pub Association issued a warning, saying the government needs to help pubs. More closures are avoidable.

Locals give the White Horse great support. They really want it to stay open, and Amanda hopes for the best. She thinks good food and drinks help, and she also stressed a welcoming attitude.
