Police in Lancashire seized 42 untaxed, abandoned cars in Nelson and Brierfield over two days in “Bin the Bangers” operation.

Cops, the DVLA, and the council worked together on this initiative. This week, they targeted different spots in Pendle, aiming to clear out untaxed and abandoned cars. In the initial sweep, the team grabbed 16 cars from Garden Street, Bradley Road, and Clegg Street.
The next day, they took 26 more cars, targeting streets including Norfolk, Earl, and Lonsdale Streets. Also, they visited Tavistock, Rhoda, and Pendle Streets, along with Whitehall, Southfield, and Smith Streets. Authorities indicated their intention to continue the operation in the future.
Police posted about the initial seizure of 16 vehicles on Facebook, clarifying that these cars came from Nelson and Brierfield. They again highlighted their collaboration with the DVLA and the local council.
Another post came out the next day, continuing “Bin the Bangers” in more Nelson and Brierfield streets. They listed all the streets they had checked that day again, highlighting the thoroughness of their efforts. In just two days, they seized a total of 42 cars, with Nelson police receiving support from the DVLA and the council. They confirmed their plans to continue these visits.
