Police increase patrols near HMP Kirkham due to rising drug drops. A man was arrested, suspected of supplying drugs.

Fylde Rural Task Force is working on this, their operation is called Operation Washer. They aim to stop crime around the prison. On Tuesday, police did a plain clothes operation.
This took place on Frecklton Road near the prison. They looked for suspicious things such as cars. The teams stopped many cars and did ten searches. They gathered information to help solve the issue.
Officers found a connection to a prior drug drop. This drop occurred at HMP Kirkham last month. The police arrested the driver of a related vehicle. The driver is a 54-year-old man from Burnley.
He is suspected of supplying Class A and B drugs. Police stated they’re working with HMP Kirkham. Their goal is to disrupt crime in that area. HMP Kirkham had more drug drops recently.
Police will keep watching the prison area. They’ll use their stop search powers when needed. They want to work closely with the prison.
