Study reveals UK beaches with poor water quality, including Lancashire spots Blackpool North and St Annes North.

Holiday Park Guru used data from the Environment Agency. They found 13 beaches with “poor” water. They called these beaches “Brown Flag” winners. Even popular beaches like Cornwall made the list.
Porthluney in Cornwall was the worst. Southsea East and St Mary’s Bay also scored poorly. Lancashire beaches struggled in the study. None of the ten spots got an “excellent” rating.
Blackpool North and St Annes North had “poor” scores. The study showed the UK’s worst water quality spots. Porthluney, Southsea East, and St Mary’s Bay made the list. Littlestone was another Kent beach with poor water. Blackpool North and St Annes North also ranked poorly.
Heacham, Weston-super-Mare, and Dunster Beach also had issues. Bognor Regis Aldwick and Tynemouth Cullercoats are included. Scarborough South Bay plus Bridlington South Beach were listed.
This is a warning for beach visitors. Polluted water could be unsafe to swim in. Sewage and farm runoff can cause health problems. Check water reports before swimming, experts say.
