Family mourns Lacey Lake, 24, after her “unexplained” death in Plymouth. Grandmother pays tribute to the young woman.

Her body was discovered on January 7. The caravan sat in a Tamerton Foliot car park. January 6 was when they reported her missing. Family had many questions after she died, and police called the death “unexplained,” but they did not think it was suspicious.
The service was February 10 at Paul Parish Church. Lacey’s grandmother, Rosemary French, spoke about it, and she called the funeral “wonderful.” The song “Flowers” played as people arrived, remembering Lacey’s short life, while “Lost Without You” played during this time. The group also sang a hymn.
Lacey’s brother Tom wrote a poem speaking of her leaving too soon. Her sister Brooke also shared words, and “Forever Young” played as mourners left the service.
Afterward, a reception was held at The Lugger Inn. Rosemary raised Lacey after Lacey’s mother died at only 26 from misdiagnosed sepsis.
Lacey had Type 1 diabetes and injected herself daily. Rosemary questioned Lacey’s death, wondering why police did not search sooner.
Lacey’s ashes will be with her mother, and they will be buried in Doncaster on March 7. This is the anniversary of her mother’s death, and Rosemary misses Lacey very much.
Donations were encouraged for Cats Protection and Diabetes UK in Lacey’s memory.
