Kynren’s Wendy Wilshere is a finalist for the VisitEngland Tourism Superstar award, recognizing dedication to North East tourism.

Wendy helps many volunteers at Kynren and tells people about Kynren. She goes to events for County Durham. Kynren is a big outdoor show.
Wendy started as a volunteer in 2016 and then became a Kynren employee. Kynren will open a theme park in 2024. Wendy feels honored to represent the North East.
Wendy loves working with volunteers. She supports them at Kynren events and cares about Kynren a lot. The show helps the region’s economy.
Kynren’s CEO, Anna Warnecke, praises Wendy. She says Wendy works very hard, and volunteers feel lucky to have her. Wendy’s passion inspires everyone, and she wants the area to improve.
Michelle Gorman, who works at Visit County Durham, also supports Wendy. She calls Wendy very dedicated and thinks Wendy shines at Kynren.
Other finalists include various tourism professionals. One works at a dinosaur park, another manages education at a zoo, and someone else runs a railway. The winner will be announced in March.
Andrew Stokes spoke about the Tourism Superstar award, stating he wants to highlight great people. These people make visits memorable, and the finalists represent diverse attractions. They welcome visitors warmly.
