Ireland West Airport humorously addresses a mix-up showing flights to Galway instead of Knock.

The airport often makes witty social media replies. Last December, Dublin Airport decorated for Christmas with green and red lighting. Dublin Airport joked that it was not for Mayo’s football win. Ireland West Airport quoted Oscar Wilde, implying Dublin Airport was copying them. Dublin Airport replied with a joke, and Ireland West replied that Wilde spent his childhood in Mayo.
Separately, a Ryanair passenger, Bex, paid more for check-in than her flight and said she felt “scammed” on social media. She paid £55 for check-in, while her flight cost only £32. She couldn’t reach Ryanair by phone, and she seemingly forgot to check in online.
Many TikTok users defended Ryanair, pointing out the need to check in online. One user stressed the check-in policy, and another said Ryanair is good if you follow the rules. Someone said doing so keeps flight prices low.
Bex also received some support. One person faced a similar situation, citing a Whizz Air fee. Another person recalled a large airport charge and advised using a credit card for bookings. They recommended disputing charges with the card company. Ryanair has yet to comment.
