Kirklees facility Mill Dale & Crescent Dale gets upgrades. Supports 40 adults with learning disabilities/autism, finishing Winter 2025/26.

Mill Dale and Crescent Dale in Heckmondwike will be updated. Work starts this spring, and the project will help 40 adults who have learning disabilities and autism. They expect to finish by winter 2025/26.
The council wants people with disabilities to thrive. Jupiter Construction will improve the buildings with a flexible and inclusive new design that should promote independence too.
The upgrade improves day care for vulnerable adults, helping those who need support now and benefiting children who may need it later. People can enjoy more independence after this, and the hope is that lives will improve.
Jupiter Construction is working with the council and are excited about the project. The upgrades include remodeling and expansion to allow Kirklees Council to provide great care, and they hope the people there will flourish.
The project includes special rooms for sensory experiences and interactive technology, including a Magic Table. Different sized rooms will suit various activities, and outside includes wheelchair swings, outdoor eating areas, raised beds, and a potting shed.
The changes will help people with neurodiversity. Complex physical disabilities are considered in the design.
