A Swansea woman offering kindness was robbed. A pregnant woman stole cash, card, bus pass, and phone after asking to use her toilet.

The woman kept the bathroom door open and rubbed her belly. She said she needed to go again. Maria went into the kitchen, and the woman stole Maria’s things, including cash, a bank card, her bus pass, and her phone.
Maria’s daughter-in-law, Jodie, spoke about the incident, noting the woman wore a hood because of the rain. Jodie thinks the Thief kept the bathroom door open, this helped the thief.
Maria felt shaken by the event. She is from Mozambique and had never been robbed there. This happened in Swansea.
Maria noticed her phone was missing. Then, she looked for her bag and found it in a washing basket. A neighbor saw the woman enter and leave and subsequently called the police.
The police took Maria to Jodie’s house. The woman had a black fringe and looked to be in her mid-20s. She wore baggy clothes and a cream body warmer.
Maria’s son, Claudio, felt angry but was glad his mother wasn’t hurt. He hopes they catch her and does not want this to happen to others.
Jodie said they kept Maria with them, fearing for her safety. Many people online offered support, some even offering money and gifts to Maria.
Police confirmed they were investigating the incident, which happened in Morriston. They confirmed a phone and purse were stolen. No one has been arrested yet.
