Ayub Khan, who fled after Richard Hopley’s 2022 stabbing, is found guilty of murder and robbery conspiracy.

Ayub Khan, 29, was in a gang. They attacked Richard. The attack happened in Harborne. Richard drove a drug dealer around and arrived at the meeting place. Then, the gang attacked him and stabbed him.
Ayub had a knife, but he didn’t stab Richard directly. Richard tried to escape and drove away fast.
Three other people got prison time. They were part of Richard’s killing and also robbed him. Their sentences totaled over 50 years. Ayub left the UK after this.
Ayub Khan was arrested last September. He returned to England then and was found guilty on February 14. The charges were murder and robbery conspiracy.
Richard crashed his car after the stabbing. He only drove a short way and had a chest wound from the knife. He died from this injury.
Police looked for everyone involved and continued after the first convictions. They think they found everyone now. Their thoughts are with Richard’s family.
