Children of Rikki Berry confront his killers after sentencing. Smith Williams Walsh receive life in prison for murder.

Michael Smith, Adam Williams, and Connor Walsh were found guilty by a jury, convicted of murder and firearm possession. The court sentenced them on Tuesday.
Smith and Williams received life sentences with a minimum of 31 years served. Williams drove the car accompanying the shooter on the e-bike. Walsh got life with a 30-year minimum, his DNA found on a bullet casing.
Rikki’s 13-year-old son read a statement, questioning the killers’ evil actions and expressing the pain of watching his sister grow up without her dad. He saw his dad die and declared his hatred for their actions.
Rikki’s four-year-old daughter also spoke, saying she will never forget her daddy and sees him in her dreams. She sends her love to her “little darling.”
Rikki’s kids and partner were home during the shooting. His girlfriend, Karlie Newhall, recounted it was just a normal day. An hour later, a nightmare began with shots ringing out.
She ran for cover as Rikki urged everyone to protect the kids. She now wonders if she could have done more, knowing all five of them could have died. She doesn’t feel safe, especially when cars pass by.
Karlie struggles to explain the tragedy to her daughter, who says her dad still talks to her. She remembers her son and Rikki enjoying motorbiking and canoeing together.
She feels they attempted a cover-up and showed no remorse, attempting to save themselves. She states she’ll never forgive them. True justice can never happen now.
Adam Williams admitted to driving the SUV that accompanied the shooter. The men had checked out Rikki’s location earlier, where Rikki worked in his yard.
Williams and Walsh denied involvement and claimed no knowledge of the “execution.” Williams said he only stopped the car. Ryan Westhead claimed Rikki yelled at them first, after which the shooter appeared.
Walsh’s DNA was on a bullet casing and the firearm’s magazine. He later rode his bike to the scene, accompanied by his son and nephew.
Smith admitted to lesser charges, including manslaughter and firearm possession, after others named him as the shooter. He didn’t testify, and his lawyer claimed he only meant to scare Rikki.
