A man, 59, killed his wife. He shot her three times with a rifle at their home near Kibworth Beauchamp.

The man then moved her body to their stable. He shot himself in the head there. An inquest revealed these police details.

The couple’s marriage had failed months before the incident. The man, Richard Harrison, killed his wife Rachel, who was 54.

Rachel Harrison lived at Sunnydale Farm with her husband and kids. Someone found her on December 15, 2023. It was a family member and a friend.

She was in the farm’s stable with gunshot wounds. A paramedic confirmed her death at the scene. Police investigated the situation thoroughly.

Their relationship had been strained and broken down completely. On December 15, Richard killed Rachel using his rifle. He shot her twice in the head and once in the chest.

He then moved Rachel to the stable and shot himself in the head. He died from that injury. The coroner ruled it unlawful killing for Rachel Harrison’s death and suicide for her husband’s death.

She worked as an administrator, and he was a cattle buyer. Villagers in Saddington were very sad after the couple’s deaths. A parish council chairman commented on it, stating that the village felt devastated.

The chairman knew of them, but not well. He’d lived in the village his whole life and stated it was unexpected.

Another villager was also interviewed. They claimed they had not known the couple but mentioned seeing police cars.
