Plan your Kent journeys ahead. M2 and M20 motorways face overnight closures this week for essential roadworks and maintenance.
The M2 has closures due to bridge work. Part of the motorway between Junction 5 and 6 will be closed on Monday night. Additionally, the westbound Junction 4 entry will also be closed. It’s shutting multiple nights for structural work.
On Monday and Tuesday, the M20 will experience closures. The westbound Junction 1 to A20 at Crittalls Corner will shut from 10 PM to 5:30 AM for investigations. The M20 eastbound also closes those nights, with Junctions 1 to 2 shut for barrier work.
Other roads will be affected as well including the A2, A20, A21, M25, and M26. Work continues on the A249 in Sittingbourne at the Grovehurst junction this week.
On Monday, the A2 eastbound Tollgate entry closes from 8 PM to 6 AM for drainage. Concurrently, the A2 westbound Harbledown entry also closes from 9 PM to 6 AM for tree work.
Also closing on Monday is, the A2 westbound Dartford Heath entry, shutting from 10 PM to 5:30 AM for surveys. The A20 westbound closes from A260 to M20 J13 between 8 PM and 6 AM for tunnel work.
Monday also brings the closure of the A21 southbound Morleys Road entry, between 8 PM and 6 AM for maintenance. The A21 northbound Quarry Hill entry also shuts between 8 PM and 6 AM for surface work.
The M2 eastbound shuts between Junctions 5 and 6 from 8 PM to 6 AM for bridge work. Coinciding with that, the M2 westbound Junction 4 entry also closes from 8 PM to 6 AM for structural work.
The M20 eastbound Junction 4 entry shuts from 8 PM to 6 AM for electrical work. Adjacent to that, the M20 westbound Junction 1 to A20 closes from 10 PM to 5:30 AM for investigations.
The M20 eastbound shuts from Junction 1 to 2 from 10 PM to 5:30 AM for barrier work. Joining the list, the M25 anti-clockwise Junction 5 to A21 link shuts from 10 PM to 5:30 AM for CCTV work.
The M25 anti-clockwise then closes from Junction 6 to 5. The closure is between 10 PM and 5:30 AM for scheme works.
Moving to Tuesday, some closures repeat. The A2 eastbound Tollgate closes again from 8 PM to 6 AM for drainage work. The A2 westbound Dartford Heath entry is closed, between 10 PM to 5:30 AM, due to gantry surveys.
Again, the A20 westbound closes from A260 to M20 J13, 8 PM to 6 AM, to carry out tunnel stuff. The A21 in both directions also shuts from A2100 to Westfield Lane, 8 PM to 6 AM for surface improvements.
More A21 nighttime closures occur. The northbound Quarry Hill entry slip shuts again from 8 PM until 6 AM for surface work. Also, the A21 southbound will shut from Vauxhall Lane to Longfield for maintenance between 8 PM and 5 AM.
The M2 westbound Junction 4 entry closes again. It shuts from 8 PM to 6 AM for structural maintenance. Additionally, the M20 eastbound Junction 4’s entry slip shuts between 8 PM and 6 AM as electrical work occurs.
The M20 westbound Junction 1 to A20 continues to close from 10 PM to 5:30 AM as crews keep doing joint investigations. Likewise, the M20 eastbound shuts from Junction 1 to 2 from 10 PM to 5:30 AM for barrier work.
The same M25 closures return. The M25 anti-clockwise, Junction 5 to A21 link, shuts for CCTV work from 10 PM to 5:30 AM. Moreover, the M25 anti-clockwise closes between Junctions 6 and 5 again to continue scheme works from 10 PM to 5:30 AM.
Wednesday’s closures are next. The A2 northbound will close from the Eastern Docks to Duke of York roundabout between 8 PM and 6 AM for maintenance. The A21 closes in both directions again from A2100 to Westfield Lane between 8 PM and 6 AM for road work.
The A21 northbound Quarry Hill road entry closes from 8 PM to 6 AM for surface work. The M2 westbound Junction 4 entry slip shuts between 8 PM and 6 AM for structural work. Moreover, the M2 eastbound Junction 7 exit slip gets closed for maintenance from 8 PM until 6 AM.
The M20 eastbound shuts from Junction 12 to A260 between 8 PM and 6 AM for maintenance. Furthermore, the M25 anti-clockwise Junction 5 to A21 link shuts again from 10 PM to 5:30 AM for CCTV work.
The M26 westbound will close near the M25. Junction 2a to M25 Junction 6 will shut between 10 PM and 5:30 AM because they are installing MS4 screens.
On Thursday, expect more closures. The A2 eastbound Adisham Road exit slip will shut between 8 PM and 6 AM for surveying. The A21 will shut in both directions again, extending from A2100 to Westfield Lane again between 8 PM to 6 AM for surface work.
The A21 northbound Quarry Hill road entry will shut between 8 PM and 6 AM for surface work. The A21 northbound Morleys exit slip will also close for maintenance from 8 PM to 6 AM.
The A21 southbound will shut further down – from Forstal Farm to Lady Oak Lane B2079. Maintenance will occur from 8 PM to 5 AM. Also, the M2 westbound Junction 4 entry slip will shut once more, closing from 8 PM to 6 AM for structural work.
The M2 eastbound Junction 7 exit slip is closing from 8 PM to 6 AM for maintenance. The M20 eastbound will shut from Junction 12 to A260 for maintenance between 8 PM and 6 AM. Wrapping it up (for the entries), the M25 anti-clockwise Junction 5 to A21 link will shut, closing from 10 PM to 5:30 AM for CCTV work.
Friday’s closures include repeat offenders. The A2 eastbound Adisham Road exit slip will close from 8 PM to 6 AM for survey work. The A21 shuts in both directions again from A2100 to Westfield Lane between 8 PM to 6 AM.
The A21 southbound Sevenoaks exit slip will shut for a long time, from Friday 8 PM to Monday 6 AM, due to structure work. The A21 northbound Westerham Road exit closes too with this long closure lasting from Friday 8 PM to Monday 6 AM for structure work.
Expect the A21 northbound Quarry Hill road entry slip to shut so that surface work can continue from 8 PM to 6 AM. Additionally, the M2 westbound Junction 4 entry slip will shut again so structure work can occur from 8 PM to 6 AM.
Finally, the M25 anti-clockwise Junction 5 to A21 link will shut between 11 PM and 6 AM for CCTV work.
Saturday’s closures are fewer. The west quadrant of the A2 Brenley Corner will shut from 8 PM to 6 AM for maintenance. The A21 southbound Sevenoaks exit slip remains shut between the long closure of Friday 8 PM to Monday 6 AM. Moreover, the A21 northbound Westerham Road exit stays closed too across the same closure of Friday 8 PM to Monday 6 AM.
Lastly, the M2 eastbound Junction 7 exit slip closes from 8 PM to 6 AM for maintenance.
Sunday has few closures, like Saturday. The west quadrant of the A2 Brenley Corner shuts, lasting from 8 PM to 6 AM. The A21 southbound Sevenoaks exit slip stays shut from Friday 8 PM until Monday at 6 AM.
The A21 northbound Westerham Road exit stays closed too with the closure from Friday night to Monday morning. Capping closures off that night, the M2 eastbound Junction 7 exit slip closes from 8 PM to 6 AM due to maintenance work.
