Crime rates in Kent show Thanet has the highest, with Dartford and Gravesham following closely behind in the latest report.

Areas are split into safety partnerships. These partnerships mostly match local zones and consider population. Crime rates allow comparison, showing threats across different areas.
Thanet has Kent’s highest crime rate at 106 crimes per 1,000 people. That means one in nine reported a crime. Dartford and Gravesham follow Thanet with 100 crimes per 1,000 people.
Medway is next with 97, while Tonbridge and Malling is safest, with a rate of 61 crimes per 1,000 people. That translates to one crime per 16 people.
Nationally, homicides fell by 4%. However, knife offenses rose by 4%, firearms went up by 19%, and robbery also rose by 4%. Shoplifting increased significantly, rising by 23%.
A Crime Survey got published, based on in-person interviews. This survey measures crime’s impact, looking back at past events.
The survey estimates 9.5 million headline crimes, including theft, robbery, fraud, and violence. The number rose by one million, driven primarily by fraud.
The survey gathered more data, revealing that around 4.4 million faced harassment, about 2.2 million were abused, and 1.6 million were stalked. Additionally, one million had sexual assault issues.
