Activists aimed to glue themselves to a runway at Manchester Airport but were stopped by police before they could.

Police caught them before they could cause any real trouble. The group ended up in police vans instead, and it happened back on August 5th.
The police caught them on South Park Road in Gatley, as they were heading towards the airport. One of them had a note about their plan. The note said they wanted to glue themselves down and alert police about the protest too, aiming to disrupt the airport and get attention.
Police searched a rental place in Gatley. They found a license and camera stuff in the trash. Four people were found guilty in court; their names are Indigo Rumbelow, Leanorah Ward, Margaret Reid, and Daniel Knorr. They were guilty of causing a public nuisance, while Noah Crane was found not guilty.
Crane’s only involvement was buying phones, and he didn’t know what the others would use them for. The judge seemed fairly impartial during trial.
After the verdict, the defendants thanked the jury. They questioned why Noah Crane was held for six months and think climate change is the bigger issue anyway.
A Just Stop Oil person spoke about the court’s decision. They feel the courts are disconnected from reality and believe climate change is a serious threat.
