Trial halted after judge falls ill. Driver accused of murder in East London. Retrial set for December.

He was charged with running over Fergany Mvuezolo, 35. The incident occurred in March 2024 on Barking Road in East Ham.
Inayah Taiwo, from Islington, also faced charges. She was accused of obstructing justice related to events after the alleged murder. Rowland faced other charges too.
These included two counts of attempted serious harm and one count of dangerous driving. This was related to a prior incident ten months before.
Inner London Crown Court was hearing the case. Judge Ian Darling, 63, became ill and could not continue with the trial, the court learned.
Judge Freya Newbery told the jury they were no longer needed. A retrial is scheduled for December 1 with a new jury and judge.
Judge Newbery thanked jurors for their patience. Rowland denies all the charges against him. Taiwo denies obstructing justice, too.
