Vesuvio in Boothstown triumphs with packed reopening, no ads needed after closing almost a year ago.

The restaurant is in Standfield Shopping Centre, having first opened back in 2015. Locals and others loved it. Financial issues caused the closure last Easter. Now, Giuseppe runs Vesuvio alone, splitting time between the kitchen and dining area.
They completed a full renovation and reopened on Thursday. It was packed, even without ads. Giuseppe’s wife, Kate, and son, Alessio, helped get everything running smoothly; however, the phone line isn’t working yet.
Giuseppe updated the Facebook page, and people saw the new photo. They started talking and asking questions, with many inquiring if the relaunch was happening. People often inquired about reopening. This made Giuseppe realize how missed they were.
Customers brought gifts, and one was even crying, which made Giuseppe feel very good. Someone said Boothstown feels alive again. They waited for Vesuvio to reopen. The team served about 250 customers from Thursday to Sunday.
The restaurant surpassed all expectations. Some came just for drinks, while others shared pizza at the bar. It was so busy that they turned people away. Giuseppe regrets the long delay and feels very wanted. The menu is smaller now.
Fish specials remain popular. Giuseppe learned cooking in Naples. His late father was a chef there, and he attended catering school in Sorrento. Vesuvio isn’t a typical Italian restaurant; they encourage people to try something different.
