A person died in an Oldham bungalow fire on Walker’s Road. Authorities are investigating the cause.
The bungalow is managed by Housing21 for the Oldham council. Now, officials are trying to figure out how it started. Police and fire teams, who are specialist teams, checked the property Friday.
It is not clear how the fire began yet, and they also don’t know who the person was. The bungalow’s front and inside are badly burned. Good thing the fire didn’t spread next door.
Housing21 said they know about the fire that happened at a property they manage. They said one person died, which is very sad. Housing21 is helping investigators learn what happened and is also helping neighbors who live nearby.
Police are asking for people to share information. Detective Inspector Dicorato wants witnesses to reach out and share CCTV or doorbell footage.
Firefighters used hoses and special tools to stop the fire. They worked with ambulance and police teams there and made sure the area was safe. Crews left after seven hours.
