An inquiry will probe the death of Connor Morrison, 24, who died in Edinburgh’s Saughton Prison shortly after sentencing.

Connor got jailed after a conviction at Livingston Sheriff Court. The charges involved threatening, abusive behavior, assault, and bail breach. He started his 161-day sentence on March 22.
The death isn’t considered suspicious, but there’s going to be an inquiry about it. It’s called a Fatal Accident Inquiry, or FAI, and will happen May 28-30 at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
An FAI tries to find out what happened and how the death occurred. They’ll also look for ways to prevent similar deaths, which helps improve safety in the future.
The Scottish Prison Service said Connor died while a prisoner at HMP Edinburgh. Police Scotland also knew about it and sent a report to the Procurator Fiscal. The FAI will happen later on, they said.
Police got the call about the death of a 24-year-old man who died suddenly inside an Edinburgh prison at 7:55 a.m. The police don’t suspect any foul play. A report went to the Procurator Fiscal.
