It took place at Our Lady Immaculate Junior School, located in Darndale. The finding was pretty awful; it involved only some remains. This happened on Friday, February 21, 2025.
The Irish police, called Gardaí, closed off the area and told the Irish State Pathologist about it. Now, they will examine the remains and then do DNA testing. This will help discover who this was.
Gardaí announced they learned of remains in Darndale on Friday the 21st. They will examine and test the remains, which will help identify the person and shape the investigation.
A Dublin politician, Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, called it awful and said we don’t know what happened yet. He spoke about the discovery’s nature. It’s grim to find this anywhere, but worse at a school, even during break.
That school teaches kids from ages eight to twelve. They also have a pre-school for three-year-olds. Besides teachers, they have other staff, including a secretary, caretaker, and cleaners.
The school opened way back in 1975. Many parents and grandparents went there, and even great-grandparents attended this school. It has a long history of teachers also.
