Seven Hull community centres will be upgraded with £1 million to provide warmer, more welcoming spaces and cut energy use.

Hull City Council got money for this in 2023. The funding came from the Levelling Up fund. Community centers are vital in Hull, where people gather to chat and stay warm.
Some centers need improvements, and the changes will create warmer, welcoming spaces. They will use less energy, too; better heating stops energy loss.
Mitchell Community Centre work has already started. They are swapping old windows for double glazing, and a new, efficient boiler is also going in soon. New LED lights are planned, and they will repair the roof next.
Other centers will get upgrades too. Eastmount Centre will get a new boiler, and the Edinburgh Street center will have new lights. Double glazing will also come to Edinburgh, while Maurice Rawling Centre will gain new lights, and double glazing is planned there too.
North Hull Annexe will have LED lighting installed. The West Parade center will get new lights, and they are also putting in a high efficiency boiler. Contractors want to limit disruptions, so check the Hull City Council website for updates to see if your center activity is still on schedule.
