A plan for 362 homes, a creche, and a cafe could significantly expand Carrigaline, creating a new community south of town.

Bridgewater Homes wants to build 362 homes. Plans show over 300 houses and more than 40 apartments. A creche for 102 children is planned, and a cafe is also in the works.
The project involves demolishing old buildings at Kilmoney. The site is 12.97 hectares large, and builders will construct 318 houses. These are 2, 3, and 4-bed homes, along with 44 two-bed apartments. The entrance will be on Mountain Road.
The plans include open spaces, and a village square is proposed. Plazas and parks are also planned to create community space with play areas. The square might host markets and act as a meeting spot.
The project is large for Carrigaline. Bridgewater Homes calls it a high-quality neighborhood, claiming it will help the whole community, where housing is greatly needed in the region.
Bridgewater group has offices on South Douglas Road and has developed housing estates across Cork. These include Glenwood in Fermoy, Waterfall Heights in Bishopstown and Lisnagar Gardens in Rathcormac.
