Two men from Huddersfield are jailed for targeting delivery drivers in a string of cruel robberies.

A court in Leeds sentenced them on February 12. The crimes happened together in Huddersfield in June 2024, where they admitted committing robberies between June 14 and June 25.
Powell, who lived on Logwood Road, also admitted to attempted robbery and having a knife in public. His sentence totals six and a half years, while Shelton, from Wheathouse Road, admitted driving while disqualified twice and received six years total in jail.
Police in West Yorkshire investigated the robberies. The pair targeted delivery drivers and people in parks.
A detective from the Huddersfield Crime Team welcomed the conviction, stating that the men threatened people for their belongings, causing real distress. Detectives investigated thoroughly and built a strong case as police prioritize tackling robbery so victims can feel some relief knowing the men are now in prison.
