Thieves stole copper wiring from a Chesterfield hospital CT scanner, affecting seventy patients awaiting vital scans.

The CT scanner van lost all power. Seventy patients now have to wait for scans, and some of these patients may have cancer. The hospital will contact people if they need to reschedule.
Luckily, the CT scanner worked again on Thursday afternoon. February 20th fixes finished fast because staff worked hard alongside hospital teams.
The hospital apologized for postponed CT scans and appreciates everyone’s patience and support. Workers kept going to help avoid further delays.
The CT scanner sits in a future diagnostic center, expected to open in summer 2025. They will perform many tests there each year, including tests for cancer, heart problems, and breathing issues.
Police responded quickly to the wire theft, although the thieves escaped in just a few minutes. Police ask for public help with any information, and please reference number 25000098901 when contacting police.
