A farm near Ross-on-Wye can host ten new homes despite opposition. Council approves plan with 29 conditions attached.

Six houses would have three bedrooms, and four houses would have four bedrooms. Twenty-eight parking spaces were included, with a new road providing access, connecting to the B4521 road.
An old farmhouse would get fixed up, but would not become a house again. Two smaller farm buildings would be knocked down. One neighbor said the site was too wet.
Another neighbor worried about increased traffic, saying the road was already dangerous and that many accidents have happened there.
The council didn’t have technical issues with the plan, nor did the local parish council. A planning officer said housing was needed and that this outweighed the concerns.
The officer saw no reason to reject the plan and called it a high-quality development. There are 29 conditions attached to the permission, covering things like drainage and lighting.
The farm is near an old pub, which is a listed building. The pub owners also want to build five houses, wanting to make them bigger and more sustainable.
