Christopher Woolford stole chocolate after being homeless. His dad kicked him out. He now faces community service.

Woolford committed five thefts last year. These occurred between October and December. He was sentenced at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on February 13.
He stole from Farmfoods in Wigston. Two thefts occurred at Wigston Tesco. Sainsbury’s in Wigston was also targeted. Lastly, he hit Tesco in Leicester Forest East twice.
One theft at Leicester Forest East involved more than just chocolate. Woolford stole beef and steaks. Wine, salmon, and chicken were also taken. The specifics of other thefts are not fully known. Exact values of stolen goods are also missing.
Woolford’s lawyer, Danielle Lunn, explained his background. Woolford used to live on Portloc Drive. Now, he has no permanent address. He had never been to court before.
He was living with his partner and child. His child is four years old. Woolford’s relationship ended. He started paying rent to his dad. Sadly, his dad asked him to leave.
He had nowhere to live. Lunn stated there was little planning involved. Mental health problems are a factor. Lunn noted Woolford drank a lot.
He will work with Turning Point. This will help with his alcohol problem. The court ordered him to do a few things. He must do a 12-month community order.
A six-month alcohol program is required. He also must work with probation for 10 days. He must pay £204 in compensation. There is also a £114 victim surcharge.
