Historic Welsh Church Could be Transformed into Holiday Getaway

A historic church may become a vacation rental. The church sits in Gwyddelwern, Denbighshire. Gethin Jones wants to change Capel Wesley. He sent his request to the council.

The old Methodist church is the focus. Its location is at A494 and Tyn Llechwedd. The building is not currently used. Parking will be included in the plan.

The plan aims to protect the church’s look. It should blend well with the area. The application supports these goals.

Gwyddelwern’s chapel is quite old. It is over two centuries in age. It started as a church house. More recently, it held storage.

The chapel is next to the churchyard. This mirrors its past. It still looks much like it did before. Its structure still holds its original charm.

The application seeks permission for the change. It aims to make a luxury rental. The plan includes few outside changes. This would protect its history. New windows match old openings; this adds light while keeping the look.

Neighbors have not yet been asked. The council will likely discuss the plan later. This meeting will occur in Ruthin.
