A local historian claims Elon Musk’s Scouse grandma Cora Robinson was born in Edge Hill, not Mossley Hill, Liverpool.

The articles said Cora was born on Bridge Road. Some even showed new houses there. But a local historian named Colin has a different idea. He says Cora wasn’t born in Mossley Hill; he says she was born at 36 Bridge Road, Edge Hill.
Colin checked old maps. The Mossley Hill address changed over time. Notably, it was once a school and later became an engineering place. He saw no houses there on the maps.
Colin found the Robinson family in Edge Hill in 1921. Cora’s parents lived at 36 Bridge Road, Edge Hill, from 1919 until World War II.
Registers stopped during the war. The family likely left Liverpool then and were in Gloucester by September 1939. Many families fled cities to escape bombing.
Edge Hill was risky during the war. We do not know how long Cora stayed. Perhaps she did return to Liverpool. The house was likely bombed, and newer homes now sit at 34 and 36 Bridge Road. The Edge Hill site is now storage.
Musk’s great-great-grandfather, Levi, came to Liverpool in the 1870s from the Cheshire-Staffordshire area. He lived in Dingle in 1911 and worked as a crane driver.
Levi’s son, John, went to South Africa and married Brechie Elizabeth Theron in 1911. Later, they came back to Liverpool and had five kids: Cora, Levi, Sydney, Kenneth, Eleanora. Eleanora sadly died of scarlet fever.
Cora gave birth to Errol Musk, Elon’s dad, in South Africa. Errol said Cora grew up poor in Liverpool, emphasizing the family was hard-working.
Colin researches Wikipedia pages sometimes, checking the sources. He is interested in Liverpool people and uses his family history skills, backed by fifteen years of experience.
