A £631,000 grant will revitalize Hartlepool’s waterfront, enhancing the Museum of Hartlepool and Wingfield Castle by 2029.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund gave Hartlepool Council money. They got £631,000 for the project’s development. This will transform the Museum of Hartlepool and Wingfield Castle.
The goal is to make these attractions fun for everyone. They want to share Hartlepool’s story in a fresh way. Plans include better exhibits and entrances, along with interactive features and community spaces. Wingfield Castle will be restored and reopened.
These changes will enhance the waterfront. A new wellbeing hub is already being built. Tides of Change will also involve the community. They will host events to get feedback on the plans.
Pilot projects will then offer maritime skills training. Volunteers will help preserve local heritage while walking tours explore coastal ecology. Furthermore, a folklore music event is also planned, and schools can offer learning opportunities.
The updated attractions should open by 2029, if funded. LDN Architects designed the new visitor experience. People are excited about the project’s potential look.
Pamela Hargreaves says they are happy to get funding. National Lottery players made it possible. The museum and Wingfield Castle will be amazing. They highlight the £52m waterfront project. Tides of Change will put Hartlepool on the map, sharing treasures and local history.
