Two Hartlepool flats closed after drug dealing, violence, and disturbances. Closure orders aim to curb crime, ensure safety.

The court made these orders after a request from the Hartlepool Community Safety Team. This team includes council, police, and fire staff. These orders bring the total to ten for homes in the area in nine months.
The Glamis Walk flat is in a complex managed partly by the Accent Group. Sanctuary Supported Living also assisted in this case. The tenant experienced many visitors day and night. Neighbors complained about dealing drugs, drug use, needles left at the property, and noise. People shouted, banged, and the door frequently broke.
Navigation Point also had problems, with the tenant causing alarm and distress. Neighbors and businesses complained about excessive noise, shouting, swearing, and abuse. Aggressive behavior and drug use also occurred.
Hartlepool aims to stop criminal behavior and maintain safe, quiet neighborhoods for its residents, aware that homes can be lost as a result of such behavior.
The council also wants to tackle crime, with the police taking these issues seriously and working to solve problems. People should report concerns to them.
The court ordered costs in the cases: £2,300 in one and £2,403 in the other. The orders last for three months, during which the tenants are prohibited from entering the flats.
Breaking the order is a crime punishable by jail or a fine. Call the police if you observe a breach. You can also report it anonymously at 0800 555 111.
