Road closures in Harrow this February include one lasting 8 months due to ongoing utility work and other short-term projects.
One road closes overnight, but most happen during the day. Closures create traffic problems, potentially requiring people to find new routes.
Three roads have major closures happening now and scheduled to last through February. Harrow Council posted details online, and diversion routes exist for each.
Buckingham Road is closed on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM until March 9; Whitchurch Avenue can be used as a detour. Kymberley Road also has restrictions involving overnight closures from 8 PM to 6 AM until March 13; use these roads as a detour.
Pinner Road, Lowlands Road, and Tyburn Lane can help in navigating the closures. Utilize Peterborough Road, Station Road, and College Road, too.
Harrow View has gas main work which started in June and is progressing in eight phases. Work could last eighteen months, aiming for completion by May 19.
Phase one is from Headstone Drive to Bolton Road, while Phase two runs from Headstone Drive to Hide Road. Phase three spans from Bolton Road to Longley Road, and Phase four includes Hide Road and Longley Road.
Phase five extends from Longley Road to Cunningham Park, and Phase six runs from Cunningham Park to Buckingham Road. Phase seven is from Buckingham Park to Balfour Road, while Phase eight is from Balfour Road to Hindes Road, also encompassing Hindes Road’s west side. Use Greenhill Way as a detour.
Utilize Station Road, Railway Approach, and George Gange Way for alternative routes. High Street, High Road, and Uxbridge Road are also helpful, and consider trying Courtenay Avenue.
Alexandra Avenue closes Feb 11-13 for water work; Northolt Road closes Feb 18-21 for water work. Cunningham Park closes Feb 6-10, also for water work.
Tewksbury Gardens closes until March 3 for water work. Palmerston Road closes Feb 18 to March 3, likewise for water work. Station Road closes until Feb 10 for unspecified work.
