Police and paramedics arrived quickly after pub staff called them. They found Dariusz with knife wounds. Paramedics tried to save him, but he died at the scene. The killer has not been found.
The next day, police were everywhere and guarded a large area. The cordon covered roads and a park, spanning over half a kilometer. Oaklands Road was closed, near the pub, and Coldershaw Road was also closed.
Police are investigating the stabbing and detectives are following several leads. The stabbing likely happened near Sydney and Regina Roads, a residential area near shops and pubs. Police think witnesses were there.
