Sewer repairs force A646 Halifax Road closure, causing disruption after recent sinkhole repairs.

The A646 Halifax Road at Charlestown will shut again. Yorkshire Water needs to fix a sewer pipe section. This repair means closing the main Pennine route for 10 days.
The road partially reopened on January 23. This was after earlier sewer and culvert repairs. Now, they need to work on a different part of the sewer. This is 65 meters toward Todmorden. The road closes February 14 to February 24. Work starts on February 14 at 8 pm. It ends on February 24 at 6 am.
For three days, teams will work non-stop. After that, work happens 8 am to 5 pm. This is for ten days total. The work occurs during school half-term.
The sewer needs repair and support. They will add a strong lining to the section under the road. Yorkshire Water said this lining work requires a road closure. It is needed for safety.
They will do this work during normal hours. James Harrison knows this closure is annoying. He wants to make the sewer very strong. This should prevent problems in the future. He apologizes for the trouble. They will work hard to finish quickly.
Calderdale Council will put up detour signs. A council member wants signs to say businesses are open. Businesses want people to know they are still accessible.
