A drug dealer caught in Middlesbrough hid heroin and cocaine in his underwear. His Nokia phone revealed drug dealing messages.

Police spotted Paul Donnelly in Middlesbrough on December 28. He left a property on Alnwick Court, and he ran when he saw the officers. Police caught him soon after, then seized cash and a weapon. He was determined to be 39 years old.
Police searched him in custody, and found heroin and cocaine worth £1,230. Donnelly admitted possessing drugs, and admitted intent to supply them. He also admitted possessing a weapon, too. He tried to flee with a moped, the prosecutor said.
The officer caught him pushing the moped with a spring-loaded baton. Police found £6.10 in coins, and also found £170 in notes. He had a black Nokia phone along with all of this.
He had drugs hidden in his underwear at the station. The cocaine weighed seven grams, its value was £700 if sold in deals. The heroin was 21 grams, and worth £530 if sold like that.
The phone showed drug dealing messages. One message said someone needed drugs urgently. Donnelly claimed he sold drugs for his own habit. He has 89 offences from 51 convictions.
Donnelly’s lawyer said he wanted to change. He is on methadone in Holme House Prison, and talking to drug counselors.
The court jailed Donnelly for three years.
