Littlecoates Primary Academy brightens Grimsby center. Pupils designs welcome signs showcasing town landmarks.

The school’s Art Club made four unique images. They will display the art at key entrances. This project helps the Gardening Club and Grimsby in Bloom. They are making the street look nicer with plants.
The art shows famous Grimsby sights, like the Dock Tower. The signs also have welcome messages. Emma Bradley runs the Art Club. She said they looked at what makes Grimsby special.
They studied murals and other paintings around town. They also looked at the Dock Tower and local environment. Pupils used these ideas for the first designs.
The first sign has fishing boats and the popular Dock Tower. Betsy, a Year 5 student, drew a seagull for it. Betsy said her seagull is named Sammy. He is a silly, clumsy character.
Emma added future posters will show Victoria Street’s history. One will even picture the street in 1908. Carts were common in the Bullring area back then. The kids have great ideas. They can be proud.
Councillor Ron Shepherd thinks it is a great way to improve the town. He said they inspire young people in North East Lincolnshire. The students will make Victoria Street look better.
The council also has other Grimsby plans. They finished the Riverhead Centre. Freshney Place is being redeveloped. They look to provide a vibrant Grimsby. Residents and visitors should enjoy it.
