The Port of Grimsby buildings are getting fixed up. Associated British Ports said they are starting big repairs. This first part makes sure the buildings stay strong. This work helps plan the port’s future.

They are checking out buildings in the old area. Surveys include roofs, walls, and what’s inside. The surveys find out what needs fixing. Next, they will make the buildings sealed from weather. They will fix roofs, windows, doors, and brickwork.

Andrew Dawes talked about keeping the buildings sound. He also said they want to keep people safe. Fences are up since workers are there. They are trying not to bother people. Safety comes first for everyone.

Greg Lacey said decay will stop after many years. They talked to the council and Historic England. He said they have zones for different industries. They invested a lot to secure the future. Movies also like the area.

ABP, the council, and HE have worked together since 2017. More money is coming for the docks’ heritage. David Walsh from Historic England is happy they are working together to fix the old docks. He wants them safe and useful again.

A grant gave over £1 million to fix buildings. This helped Alfred Enderbys and The Great Escape. ABP gave money to help fix them up. This helped save the old buildings for new uses.
