Hey, check this out! Godstone had some issues. Photos showed changes over three days. They got sinkhole reports early Tuesday. That was February 18th. The A25 shut between two roads. They are Oxted and Bletchingley Roads.

A cordon went up, covering 100 meters. About 30 homes had to evacuate. Photos show workers trying hard to make the area safe.

Carl Bussey spoke about it. He is with Surrey County Council and chairs a group for this incident. He knows it’s disruptive for locals and thanked everyone for their patience. Keeping people safe comes first.

Experts are checking the site now to manage risk and figure out how to fix things properly. Utility companies cut off some supplies, but water and power are normal outside the cordon. Repairing will take time, once safe.

Tandridge District Council helps those affected, while the road stays closed and detours are in place. A group will decide repair timelines and will keep residents informed too.

One expert spoke to SurreyLive, expressing worries about the underground problem’s size. Fixing the road will take a long time, but the exact timeframe is unknown right now.
