Raymond Rutter, known as Merlin, the “town wizard” of Glastonbury, England, has died. Tributes pour in for the beloved icon.

Raymond was a Glastonbury icon. Friends are sharing tributes about him. One friend, Gabriel Avalon, called him “a character” and added that Raymond was a “nutter” and “friend.”
Avalon remembered him as “great” and “amazing.” Raymond was always there for his friends. People found him to be one of life’s nice people.
Merlin read runes by Glastonbury Abbey. Tourists enjoyed his fortune telling and came from all over to see him. Some traveled from Newcastle upon Tyne. He said people talked about him in a pub far away.
A friend, T He Fairiez, says the town lost a good man. Ray brought joy to visitors and was also a cornerstone for locals. The high street will be duller without him.
The blogger “Normal for Glastonbury” shared a tribute. Ray was a popular community member, known as Glastonbury’s street wizard. He volunteered and raised money for charity, greeting people with a warm smile.
David Greenway said Merlin was part of the town. He was shocked to hear of his passing. They shared jokes whenever they met, and his kindness spread to many people.
