Leisure centre reopens after £2.2 million refurbishment, offering modern facilities and a refreshed bar area for the community.

The council got money from the government in 2022. It was a £23.6 million grant for town projects. The center now has multi-use spaces for various sports and activities. There is also a new, modern gym, and the bar and meeting rooms got a refresh too.
Workers will install solar panels on the roof soon, creating clean energy. This project is from the Glastonbury Town Deal, as the council wants to improve things for everyone.
The Council gave the site back to Fusion Lifestyle, the leisure operator. The old site really needed improvements, and it now helps local clubs and leisure users.
This project is the first one completed from the town deal. The town looks forward to the positive impact. Fusion says it’s a special community hub, offering great sports for all ages and abilities.
The construction company enjoyed being part of it and is proud to help the community. The project team worked very closely together focusing on essential improvements. They added new electrics and heating systems, creating a modern space for the community.
Sustainability was an important focus, helping the town become zero-carbon. They installed energy-efficient measures and added extra insulation to the roof. The project sourced contractors locally and reused old building materials when possible.
