Amen Tekaly died in Glasgow. He was only fifteen years old. The incident happened on a city street. People are raising money for Amen’s family. Police believe it was an isolated event and detectives are exploring all possible motives.

Some reports link his death to gang conflict. The crime occurred on Clarendon Street, in the St George’s Cross area. Emergency services arrived quickly on Wednesday around 10:30 pm. Sadly, they pronounced Amen dead at the scene.

He was from Eritrea originally and lived with his father in Glasgow. He recently gained “right to remain” status in the UK. Hassan Dar started the GoFundMe, stating that Amen passed away from a stabbing on March 5, 2025.

He further explained that any donation helps the family, valuing all contributions, large or small. GoFundMe said Amen was loved. He participated in youth groups, including Kingsway Community Connections, where he helped cover events and learned about film.

People remember his bright personality and love for football. Kingsway Community Connections shared a video of him. Their tribute mentioned his humor and enjoyment of football, highlighting his love for pizza nights and summer BBQs too. The film showed why the group mattered to Amen.

Jamie O’Neill, Amen’s support worker, thought Amen was cool and laid-back. He added that the teen was sometimes cheeky, but knew his limits well. O’Neill felt worried about Amen lately.

He considered the area around St George’s Cross safe, but Amen sometimes spent time in other areas. That was O’Neill’s main concern for him.
