Community rallies behind Glasgow shopkeeper after teen gang causes damage at store on Bilsland Drive. Support pours in.

The store is located on Blisland Drive in Glasgow’s Ruchill area. The incident happened around 7 p.m. on February 21, and the teens are described as unruly.
The community showed much support after the social media outrage. Staff received many well wishes.
Reverend Christopher Rowe, from Colston Milton Parish Church, also offered support. His family made a card and gave £50. The card said he was sorry for the attack and hoped the card and cash helped, showing his support and care.
Reverend Rowe saw the attack online and felt a need to show support, wanting to bring encouragement to them. His children helped make the card; they felt bad for the shopkeeper and thought the attack was horrible.
Another church member felt shocked and wanted to show solidarity. Rowe’s family had a past burglary, and his community helped then. He wanted to return the favor, even though he doesn’t know the shopkeeper, but he wanted to do more than comment online.
Some parents of teens apologized later. One teen returned with a parent, who sincerely apologized and gave £50 back. Another parent reported their child to the police and apologized to the staff too, while a third parent apologized online.
The store owners thanked the parents, understanding it was not easy. The community community wants other parents to come forward; they say an apology is helpful and reassurance is the right thing to do.
Police responded to the disturbance. Police Scotland confirmed the incident happened around 8:15 p.m. on Bilsland Drive. They received a report of assault, and their inquiries continue now.
