Greater Glasgow sees £575k in drugs seized as part of a larger £3M Scotland-wide operation targeting cannabis farms in 2025.

Sixteen raids happened countrywide. Cops found thousands of cannabis plants, and they also recovered large amounts of dried cannabis.
A Greenock raid found 200 plants, with an estimated worth of £120,000. Motherwell officers stopped a man and woman and discovered £150,000 worth of cannabis.
Two Falkirk men were arrested in January; this connected them to cannabis farms. These farms existed in the central belt between 2022 and 2025, and their street value was £3.6 million, said reports.
Also in January, five men were jailed for over nine years combined. This was for a Galashiels cannabis operation worth about £2.5 million.
DrugWise is a charity that says more seizures often mean the police and customs are working hard. It does not mean more drugs exist, as a big warehouse find can skew numbers.
One find doesn’t equal more drugs overall. It simply reflects a single large discovery. Last year, police chiefs warned about crime groups, as these groups used empty shops to grow cannabis on a large, industrial scale.
