Police seized drugs worth £575,000 in Greater Glasgow. Across Scotland, the total is over £3 million in 2025 so far.

Sixteen raids happened countrywide. Cops found thousands of cannabis plants, and they also recovered large amounts of dried cannabis.

A Greenock raid found 200 plants, with an estimated worth of £120,000. Motherwell officers stopped a man and woman and discovered £150,000 worth of cannabis.

Two Falkirk men were arrested in January; this connected them to cannabis farms. These farms existed in the central belt between 2022 and 2025, and their street value was £3.6 million, said reports.

Also in January, five men were jailed for over nine years combined. This was for a Galashiels cannabis operation worth about £2.5 million.

DrugWise is a charity that says more seizures often mean the police and customs are working hard. It does not mean more drugs exist, as a big warehouse find can skew numbers.

One find doesn’t equal more drugs overall. It simply reflects a single large discovery. Last year, police chiefs warned about crime groups, as these groups used empty shops to grow cannabis on a large, industrial scale.

Police Scotland had many cannabis seizures this year. On Feb 11, 200 plants appeared in Greenock, worth £120,000. On Feb 11, 278 plants turned up in Blackburn, resulting in four men arrested and charged, with a value of £200,000.

On Feb 10, weed worth £1,800 appeared in Kirkcaldy. Feb 8 saw £100,000 of cannabis seized at Tarfside Oval, and a man was arrested.

Feb 7 showed £150,000 of cannabis found after officers acted on a tip in Motherwell, stopping a man and woman. On Feb 6, cops found cocaine and cannabis in Glasgow, which had a street value of £55,000. Cash and weapons were also seized, and three people got charged.

Feb 4 brought a Hawick confiscation of cannabis worth £289,000. Jan 28 had police stopping a car in Balblair, seizing cannabis worth £600,000, and arresting two people.

Around Jan 28, Stirling saw its share, with roughly 1,400 plants having a value of £1 million, and two men were arrested. Back around Jan 20 in Falkirk, two men were arrested with £80,000 in cannabis and £12,000 cash.

These related to other cannabis locations around Livingston, etc., with their total street value at £3.6 million. Plants around Macduff showed a value upwards of £64,800 around Jan 18, and dried cannabis added to the mix, with a value of around £5,000 – £6,000.

Also on Jan 18, cops in Glasgow discovered about 150 plants, potentially worth £150,000, and one man was arrested.

Jan 15 saw £93,000 of cannabis seized in Cowdenbeath, leading to the arrest and charge of one man. Around Jan 13 in Edinburgh, cops discovered about 500 plants, worth £300,000.

Around Jan 9, Edinburgh saw various drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, worth about £15,000. And around Jan 3 in Ellon, officers seized roughly 245 plants worth £200,000, and a man was arrested.
