A man in Glasgow is upset. He is 73 years old. He says parking is bad near the police station. Paul Studley lives in Bridgeton. He wrote a letter to the police chief, and his letter talked about dangerous parking.

Paul said parking makes walking hard, especially for older people. Cars park on the sidewalks. Vans from a local business also park there, and some cars even block the whole path. People must walk on the road.

Paul made a card with pictures showing the badly parked cars. One picture framed the worst parking. The parking situation keeps getting worse; it has been happening for a while.

People in wheelchairs struggle there, and elderly people get tired, too. They must leave the sidewalk to walk, which makes them walk on and off. This makes drivers and walkers frustrated, and emergency vehicles could not get through. Paul thinks police employees cause this and asked them to remind staff about parking rules.

Glasgow now fines drivers for sidewalk parking. This law protects pedestrians and helps people with disabilities. It also helps parents with strollers. Some streets might get exceptions, but the council says parking must be safe.

Police Scotland knows about the parking problem. They ask staff to park the right way and know about illegal parking. Helen Harrison is a police chief. Police enforce parking rules, especially targeting unsafe parking. The police chief will respond to Paul’s letter soon.
