A three-year-old girl died after being hit by a van following a tram accident in Manchester. Witnesses are deeply saddened.
A van crashed into a tram in Manchester around 10am on Saturday, February 22nd. After hitting the tram, the van hit the girl.
Emergency services rushed to help, arriving on Mosley Street with two air ambulances. The girl went to the hospital, but sadly, she died from her injuries. Police confirmed her death.

David, who works at 200 Degrees coffee shop, said his coworkers heard the crash but did not see it happen. The tram made its usual noise.
According to David, the van didn’t try to stop at all. It tried to cross the road quickly. David watched the CCTV footage, which helped him understand what happened.
David explained that the tram hit the van, but the van kept driving onward. It dragged the tram’s front part for some time. He then heard someone got hurt, learning a girl had been injured.
David thinks the van hit her on the pavement when the tram struck the van. The collision occurred around 9:55 am. He said ambulances arrived fast, in about five minutes.
David and his team went outside and saw police running very fast, wearing gloves. He realized someone sustained serious injuries. Then, he saw two ambulances arrive.
David said the staff knew about the junction’s dangers since crashes seem to happen there a lot. He thinks people need to be more careful, and that drivers need to stop completely.
He didn’t think the van drove too fast, but it simply didn’t stop at all. It tried to beat the tram’s arrival, he explained. The tram was closer than the driver thought.
Police have not arrested anyone at this time. Their investigation still continues right now.
