There’s a German Shepherd mix named Freddie. He is one year old and has been at Dogs Trust Loughborough for 120 days. Freddie is waiting for a home.

Many big dogs stay longer in kennels, and Freddie’s stay is twice the average. Smaller dogs find homes faster, but large dogs do not.

Freddie needs a lot of activity. He’s smart and needs challenges. He needs a confident and active owner who can help him calm down.

Freddie has lots of energy and needs a trained owner. Training will help him grow, as he needs activities rather than lazy days.

Celine Di Crocco manages Dogs Trust Loughborough. She said that big dogs like Freddie struggle to find homes, and caring for them can cost more.

She said big dogs deserve love and that people shouldn’t ignore them. Freddie needs an attentive owner who can match his high energy.

Dogs Trust has many large dogs, with 440 large dogs and 22 giant dogs. These dogs waited a combined 130,000 days for homes.
