Irish Clothing, a family business of 115 years, will close its last shop in Loughborough on June 30th due to external factors.

The company closed their Leicester store years ago. A Caffe Nero is there now. They cited “external factors” for the closure. They did not explain those factors further, but made the announcement on social media.
The owners are proud of their long history, calling it an incredible journey. Despite their efforts, it’s too hard now, as external forces caused the closure. They thanked their customers and suppliers.
They also thanked their dedicated employees, noting their passion and hard work mattered. John, Vivienne, and Tom thanked everyone for the support over 115 years. They said the memories will last.
People responded with shock on Facebook. Many recalled shopping or working there. One person said they were sorry about the closing and that companies like Irish Clothing are needed. They also wished them luck.
Another person wrote it was a great achievement, expressing sadness for the family and shop. A former employee shared fond memories, acknowledging it was hard to keep going. They wished everyone well.
Loughborough BID also responded, promoting local businesses. They said Irish Clothing was a real asset. They added the store will be missed a lot.
