Two men broke into a Fermoy service station, stealing cash and cigarettes. Gardaí are appealing for public assistance.

The break-in happened in Fermoy on January 14, early morning. Two men broke into a service station on Dublin Road. They used a concrete block to smash a window and stole cigarettes and money.
The thieves brought a duvet cover they used to carry the stolen items. Inside, they broke into the cigarette storage and cleared out the shelves fast. They were inside only a few minutes.
One suspect grabbed the till, and police noted he fell backward while doing so. He got the cash drawer out, and they took it when they left. The two drove away in a dark Renault Megane.
Police think the car is from 2002-2008. CCTV showed them on the N72 heading towards Tallow and Waterford.
Police shared some details about the suspects and hope the public can help.
Suspect one was the taller one, around six feet tall, with a stocky build. He’s a white man, and wore all dark clothing, a mask, and gloves. Suspect two was shorter, about five foot eight, with a slimmer build. He’s a white man, and wore all black with a hood, gloves, and a face covering.
The car was a Renault Megane saloon with four doors, potentially from 2002 to 2008. The car has a dark, metallic color. This car’s description and knowing where they went could narrow down the list of possible suspects.
