Peterborough council approves New Horizon Amusements expansion despite objections from MP and civic groups.

The city council said no before. They didn’t like how the store front would look. But the company tried again with new designs. These fixed those issues, they said.
The city’s MP, Andrew Pakes, isn’t happy. He worries about it being near important places like the war memorial and the job center. He wants rules for gambling shops.
The Peterborough Civic Society also disagreed. They think it’ll hurt the street’s look, near the Town Hall. Losing a shop there is bad for the area, they think. Shops and cafes belong there.
The company said it would help and would fill an empty space. Brown & Co helped them with the plans. They said the design matches the street well.
The council finally agreed on February 11. But they had rules about building. The new part must look the same as the old one. Doors can’t swing open onto the street.
